Denise Curtis

Women's Ministry

I am married to Pastor Donald Curtis and we have two beautiful girls and a very active 10 year old boy. I have three grandsons that have completely changed my life. I was raised in church and had the best parents in the world. I am so thankful for my Godly heritage.

I am also a huge Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan.

I believe God has prepared us and called us to Moraine City at this particular time in our lives (Esther 4:14) and it is an honor to be the president of our Women’s group.

Media Ministry

I walked into Moraine City First Church of God in the spring of 2000 with my newborn daughter, Amanda, and 2 year old son, Brendon, in tow. Immediately, I knew I found my church home. I spent a few years keeping the kids occupied with goldfish crackers and coloring books, then I was invited to a discipleship class...that changed everything!

I re-dedicated my life and began teaching Sunday School, then in the Youth ministry and got involved with the women's group. In 2018, we found a need for a Media Ministry at Moraine City and since my background is in radio & TV broadcasting.. well here I am! I'm thrilled to serve in this ministry that takes the life-changing message of Jesus as He is, to people where they are!

Childrens' Church

I was raised in church in Kentucky. It was the best part of my childhood memories. We had a large youth group and we supported each other all through our teen years. I was saved at 9 years old and experienced God's wonderful power at an early age. I learned through prayer that God heals and changes lives, even if you are only 10 years old. It was at that time that I knew I wanted to help other children understand that God is always listening to you and there for you when no one her on earth can help. I carried that passion throughout my life.

I worked for the local school system in the Multi-Handicapped room for over 12 years. I took this opportunity and love for children to try and make a difference in every child's life. I also taught Sunday School and worked with children in church for the past 20+ years.

I met my husband of 37 years in church. We have a daughter, son, and two wonderful grandchildren.

Sunday School Ministry

There's not many limits on things I like to do. Biking, camping, gardening, fishing, chess, games, travel. I love to try new things, including foods. I always say, "I'll try anything twice".

I was born in Ohio. Spent some time living in Texas, then West Virginia and have now settled back into the Dayton area. I am blessed with 5 children, first my daughter then her 4 younger brothers.I love spending time with & playing with my kids and now my 3 grandchildren who are just the best gifts!

As a mother of an autistic and epileptic son, I have learned to be an advocate for children. I spent a lot of time in the school system and I was able to learn from where I was placed. I took an active role in writing Jacob's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), and became a member of the Montgomery County Educational Service Center on the positive behavior and support team.

I was not raised directly in the church, when I was little, my Grandmother would pick me up once in a while on Saturday's for an overnight stay and take me with her for Sunday school and church service at Tytus Avenue First Church of God. Those memories of Sunday school never left me. I'm thankful for my God loving grandma & those Sunday School classes. For a few years I taught Sunday School at Carlisle First Church of God.

All of this has prepared me for where I am today. I feel very blessed and honored to be able to work in our church and serve as the Sunday School Superintendent. God most definitely knows the path He prepares for us even when we can't see why we're going through situations, later when He shows us, we have those, "aha" moments smile and think, now I get it. Thank you, Lord. For everything.
