Missions · Reaching the World for Christ
Sharing Jesus. Serving People. Across the Street and Around the World.
At Moraine City First Church of God, we believe the love of Jesus is meant to be shared. Through international and national mission trips, along with service in our own community, we have opportunities to bring the hope of the gospel to others and put our faith into action.
Wherever we serve, our purpose remains the same: to share Jesus, care for people, and encourage the work God is doing in their lives.
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15, KJV
International Mission Trips
Our international mission trips take us beyond familiar surroundings to serve alongside people in other parts of the world. These experiences allow us to share the gospel, build relationships across cultures, and help meet practical needs.
We go with willing hands and teachable hearts. By listening to local ministry leaders and working alongside them, we seek to support efforts that will continue long after our team returns home.
Serving internationally also changes us. We gain a deeper appreciation for the faith of others, a greater awareness of the challenges they face, and a broader understanding of the church around the world.
National Mission Trips
There are meaningful opportunities to serve right here in the United States. Our national mission trips allow us to reach beyond our local area, come alongside other communities and ministries, and offer encouragement and practical help.
Each trip gives us an opportunity to use our abilities for someone else’s good. As we work and serve together, we also grow closer as a church family and learn to recognize needs we might otherwise overlook.
You don’t need to be an experienced traveler or have a particular skill to begin exploring how you can participate. A willingness to learn, work with others, and serve with humility is a valuable place to start.
Serving Our Own Community
Missions is also part of our everyday life here at home. We care about our neighbors and want Moraine City First Church of God to be a church our community can turn to for compassion and encouragement.
Through local outreach and acts of service, we help meet needs, build relationships, and share Christ’s love. Sometimes that means joining a group effort. Other times, it begins with noticing a need and offering a helping hand.
We want our neighbors to know they matter to God and to us. Serving locally gives us the opportunity to build lasting relationships and continue caring for people beyond a single project or event.
A Personal Heart for Missions
Missions holds a special place in the life of our pastor, Donald Curtis. His ministry began in his early twenties as a full-time missionary in Guatemala. He later served as President and CEO of Children’s Lifeline in Haiti.
Those experiences deepened his love for sharing the gospel and taught him lasting lessons about faith, gratitude, and service. That heart continues to shape his desire to lead a church that cares about people close to home and around the world.
There Is a Place for You to Serve
Some people participate by going on a mission trip. Others make that work possible through prayer, financial support, preparation, and encouragement. Local service offers additional ways to get involved and use your gifts.
Every part matters. Whether you travel internationally, serve elsewhere in our nation
