Every year it is an exciting time for the church and the Christian world in general when Easter comes and all of the festivities of the season are going on, however I have been thinking lately, "What happens after Easter?" You see everyone gets excited, puts on their "Sunday" best, makes church a priority during the Easter Season but too often we lose that sense of importance and priority as soon as Easter Sunday comes and goes.
After the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus things became very interesting in the history of Christians. In Acts 1 the disciples followed the direction of Jesus and went to the upper room to wait, pray and seek the Lord in one accord for the coming of the Holy Spirit so that they would not be comfortless. Peter said there were about 120 people there praying. Just think what would happen if more people would pray and seek the Lord in unity, 'with one accord', probably the same thing that happened at Pentecost.
In Acts 2:2 "the Holy Spirit come from heaven as a rushing might wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting." Then in Acts 2:4 says, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost..." After Peter was empowered with Spirit of the Lord he came out preaching to the people "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the REMISSION of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
The day that Peter preached with the power of the Holy Spirit "about three thousand souls" were saved!
AFTER EASTER Pentecost came! People were empowered! People were saved! Maybe you have been wondering what happens after Easter. Friend, Easter might be over but you still have the opportunity to be saved, to be forgiven, to be filled with the Spirit of God and to get victory in your life! Listen to Peter and obey the Lord - Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and get the remissions for your sins! You can be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit!
